Our Heritage
The Heart of Trecolori

From One Dreamer to a Family Legacy
La Nostra Famiglia: How It All Began
Trecolori’s story begins with Joaquín L. González—“Jack” to his friends—a man with a dream and a deep love for food, family, and tradition. In the heart of Manhattan, Jack opened a small Italian restaurant on East 53rd Street that quickly won over locals with its warmth and flavor. As word spread, he relocated to the Theatre District and renamed it Trattoria Trecolori, reflecting its evolving identity as both a neighborhood favorite and a proud tribute to Italian culinary heritage.
When Jack passed away in 2001, his sons Marco, Víctor, and Phil inherited more than a restaurant—they inherited a mission. They honored their father’s memory not with flashy marketing or celebrity endorsements, but with a relentless dedication to quality, service, and authenticity. That commitment fueled Trecolori’s growth and led to its move to 254 West 47th Street, where it now sits just steps away from Broadway’s brightest lights.

Heart of the Theatre District, Soul of Italy
Un Gusto Italiano in Midtown Manhattan
For over two decades, Trattoria Trecolori has remained a beloved gathering place for theatergoers, families, tourists, and New Yorkers alike. Nestled in the heart of the Theatre District, it has become more than a pre-show dinner spot—it’s part of the experience.
What sets Trecolori apart is not just its location, but its soul. From house-made pasta and creamy risottos to tiramisu crafted with love, everything we serve is rooted in Italian tradition and elevated by top-quality ingredients imported straight from Italy. With plenty of vegetarian-friendly dishes that highlight the richness of Italian cuisine, our menu offers something for everyone.
Whether you’re stopping by for a quick lunch, celebrating a milestone, or simply craving a hearty plate of penne alla vodka, you’re always welcome at our table.

Built on Tradition, Grown by Trust
Dove la Tradizione Incontra l’Ospitalità
Trecolori’s success wasn’t written up in the pages of glossy food magazines. It was written in the stories of our guests—families who come back year after year, Broadway casts who make it their go-to, and first-time visitors who feel like regulars from the moment they walk in.
Our philosophy is simple: treat every guest like famiglia. We believe in warm welcomes, generous portions, and service that feels like home. We’ve grown because people taste the love in our food and feel it in our space.
As we look to the future, we carry forward the legacy of Jack with pride and humility. We continue to serve meals that remind you of la cucina della mamma, because at Trecolori, the past is always present—and every plate tells a story.
